A couple of river stones with a nice toothy texture "painted" with Prismacolor pencils. The small one is about an inch across. I've shown both sides of both stones; they don't have an official front and back.
I use dichroic in some of my pieces, but colored pencil can be amazing. I just found out last week about Deb Karash, who does silver jewelry with copper inlays that she colores with colored pencils! Take a look: [link]
These would look absolutely awesome if they were somehow drilled to be worn as pendants.
Which is not so say they don't look awesome to begin with, but I think it'd be a more effective way of showing them off (and they SHOULD be shown off)...
i'd try to seal it with something? like a spray on lacquer or finishing varnish, shouldn't effect the pencil crayons... and would make it waterproof and anti-scratchy... drilling though my be a problem, depending on the type of stone its likely to shatter or crack, but good luck with it, and keep it up
