Artist's Comments

This is me as Silverhair the Wanderer, from Diana Paxson's Westria novels. [link] Photo by Diana Paxson.

This is part of the photograph taken for the cover of The Wandersong, a CD of songs from, or relating to, Westria. A picture of the full cover is available in my Scraps. [link]

I can't actually play the harp, but I do have waist-length silver hair. That's Diana's harp, and the purple velvet cloak is borrowed from Linda VonBraskat-Crowe, who wrote Fair Mistland. I'm also on the cover of Jewel Songs, the second Westria CD, which has Mount Diablo in the background, just as this one has Mount Tamalpais in the distance (both anciently sacred mountains).

Wow, in this shot you remind me so much of a dear friend of mine back home.

This shot is just.. SO perfect, in so many ways.

I've got hair down to the small of my back and I'm envying /yours/ right now.

Just so cool, all around. Wow.

You ARE a lovely fellow=)

So I am told. :)

There's a scene in the old Pogo Possum comic strip where Albert the Alligator is disguising himself as a scissors grinder (or "sizzle grinder", as he puts it), and he's looking in the mirror, and he says something like "Funny how a handsome guy look good in any ol' thing he throw on". I tend to recite that quote whenever I check out my fancy duds....

Haha! I have a thing for long silver hair=) I am currently working on mine, but I have it dyed red for the moment=) I think you ARE altogether lovely and talented, just don't tell my Hubby I said so! ;)

You are a class act, Sir!

Yes, it's a great photo. Diana took a lot of shots there, but this one stood out.

I get a lot of hair envy. :) It's why I don't go back to a crew cut. :D

Outside the shot, careful not to get too close, are some of the hundreds of ground squirrels that inhabit the park, and get fed peanuts by visitors. The burrowing owls are much shyer. It's a great park. The solar monument, the annual Kite Festival (60-foot-long turbo-twister with parasail assist, synchronized kite aerobatic teams....), and a generally nice surrounded by water ambience.

In this pic you remind me of Väinämöinen, a finnish folklore character. :)

Gah, that sounds like it was a dream to be around. ;_;

This is such a lovely shot. You might want to change the "o" to an "a" in the name here: Silverhair the Wonderer.

And in the CD title. Done. Thank you, Keight. :)
