Eye of the Deep

Pendant made from a carved antler base with an art glass eye set into it from the back. Selectively stained, beeswax finish, concealed cord tunnel; about 1-1/2 inches high.

The opening in back used to inset the glass eye is sealed first with a slurry of glue and antler dust, then with a top slurry layer using 1 mm glass balls, for an interesting visual and tactile effect. Also, when lit from the back, the sealing layers transmit light, causing the eye to glow red.
